Green Day
- Green Day's comeback - Looks like Green Day are making a comeback. Their new album, American Idiot, debuted # 1 on the Billboard album charts - that was a first for the band. Their current single off the album, "Boulevard of Broken Dreams", is surprisingly downbeat for a Green Day song, but then the whole album is a little different from their usual formula.
Starting out in the Californian underground punk scene of the late 80s, Green Day became really big with the release of Dookie in 1994. In particular it was the paranoid "Basket Case" that got everybody's attention. The band offered a light-hearted but just as rocking alternative to the sometimes depressing grunge sound that was still immensely popular at the time. Though Green Day struggled to reproduce the success of Dookie (which sold over ten million copies), they have been very influential, helping to re-introduce punk elements into modern rock music.

Green Day is my favorite band i have met them and seen them play i have all their CD's and i listen 3 them ever y second of the day! my Favorite album is 21st Century Breakdown favorite song is East Jesus Nowhere! I LOVE GREEN DAY!
